Jose Mourinho confirms key man is fit to take on Tottenham Hotspur
Jose Mourinho’s men have dropped points in their last two Premier League outings, but ahead of the visit of Mauricio Pochettino, the Red Devils have been given some positive injury news.
After United’s victory away at Swansea City, the self-proclaimed Special One confirmed to the media that Phil Jones, who limped off the field in the first half against Huddersfield, will be fit to play.
“There were no injuries either, so it is a good day. I believe that Phil Jones will be fit for Saturday against Tottenham.” Mourinho told reporters.
Jones has been by far United’s best defender this term, and the moment he left the field against Huddersfield, that’s exactly when the problems started to occur.
To have him ready to go in such a huge game is vital. While that is great to hear, we’ll still likely be without Paul Pogba, Marouane Fellaini, Michael Carrick and Eric Bailly. Our injury list is looking rather deep at the moment, which is making things a whole lot tougher.
All eyes will now be on Old Trafford come Saturday lunchtime, for a game that Manchester United simply have to win in order to keep pace with Manchester City.
